Navigating finances can be overwhelming for clients—not just logistically, but emotionally too. At our firm, we know that success in financial services isn’t just about numbers. It’s about people.
In a recent video, our Director of Client Success, Jordan, shares key strategies that help turn discomfort into long-term client relationships.
One of her go-to reminders? “Familiarity breeds attraction.” People are more likely to connect with those who understand them or reflect who they aspire to be. That’s why maintaining regular touch points—like check-ins, follow-ups, or personalized support—isn’t just good service, it’s essential. These connections go beyond surface-level needs like “clean books” and uncover deeper desires for support, validation, and trust.
Jordan also introduces the concept of motivational interviewing, a tool often used in psychology but incredibly effective in client services. Instead of just telling clients what to do, we ask the right questions to help them uncover their own motivation. A simple question like, “On a scale of 1 to 10, how much do you want to improve your books?” can spark real insight. If they say 8, we ask, “Why not a 6?” This shift opens up a conversation about what’s already working—and what we can build on together.
These strategies aren’t just about closing deals. They’re about building trust, empowering change, and making clients feel seen and supported. At the end of the day, we all want to know someone’s in our corner.
That’s what we do at our firm—yes, we provide expert tax and accounting services, but we also create real relationships. Because your finances deserve more than spreadsheets—they deserve people who care.
