We’ve seen Florida’s tax-free weekend for back-to-school and the disaster-preparedness sales tax holiday, but now Gov. Ron DeSantis has signed a bill that begins a new tax-free holiday called “freedom week.” Check out my video below where I get into it!

The so-called Freedom Week makes buying tickets for 2021 music concerts, sporting events, movies, museum visits, state parks, and buying gym memberships tax-free from July 1 to July 7, 2021.

House Bill 7061 also says that buying boating and water activity supplies, camping supplies, fishing supplies, and general outdoor supplies will be tax-free during the sales tax holiday dubbed Freedom Week. The Florida Senate issued a press release that goes over the details of exactly what and how much is sales tax-free.

This is very exciting because I can not wait to buy concert tickets. And, freedom week is just one more reason why you should move to Florida. With three sales tax holidays happening in the course of a couple months; who wouldn’t want to move here. I also plan to buy some camping gear because my kids are scouts!

According to state lawmakers, the goal of the new tax holiday is to help Floridians return to normal activities after a challenging 2020. We could all use a little bit of “getting back to normal.” I know that this pandemic has caused so much upheaval and devastation in so many of our lives and if this sales tax holiday can bring a little joy or ease to people, I’m more than excited for for freedom week.

State economists projected that the new sales tax holiday, freedom week, will save $54.7 million for shoppers.

So, in case you were wanting to do more than buy concert tickets the listed items above are also tax-free. Drop a comment on social telling me what youre most excited to buy tax free during Freedom Week. Have an awesome Independence day and we will see you next time.
