Form 4868 is the automatic extension of your personal taxes. If there is any chance you won’t file by April 15 (or the actual deadline of the year, given April 15 being a weekend or holiday some years), make sure you get your extension in on a timely basis. You can avoid late filing penalties by requesting an automatic extension.
